San Jose Water has partnered with Promise, a technology company that specializes in providing affordable, flexible, and interest-free PromisePay payment plans to customers with past due water bills. If you have an existing payment plan with San Jose Water, it will be honored until its completion.

Our New Bill Payment Portal is Here!

We are pleased to announce a new way to pay your bill! It’s faster, easier and more secure. 

  • Expanded payment options including Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Venmo. 
  • Ability to establish and manage auto-pay. 
  • Electronic notifications of pending and completed payments as well as past-due notifications. 
  • Paperless billing — reduce clutter!

You will need to register for a new online account. Once you have an online account, log in to pay your bill. If you have an existing auto pay on your account, it will continue uninterrupted. Pay Online

New options are available to pay your bill online. With the new portal, you can pay your bill using your checking or savings account, credit card, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay,  PayPal, Pay by Text, and more!  

Effective September 18, 2023, you will need to register for a new account. Once you have an online account, log in to pay your bill

Sign up for Auto Pay to make bill paying even easier. If you have had Automatic Payment Service (APS) with our prior bill pay portal, those payment will continue. But you will need to sign up for a new online account to access your billing information. 

One-time payments are also available.

Pay by Cash

CheckFreePay® is a convenient way to pay your water bill in-person with cash. It is the largest processor of walk-in bill payments in the United States with more than 20 locations in our community. Go to our new CheckFree page to find a location near you!

Pay By Phone

Call our free automated payment service 24/7 at 1(877) 401-0085 and pay using your credit card or your checking or savings account. Please have the following information available:

  • Your San Jose Water 10-digit account number
  • Your bank account routing number
  • Your checking or savings account number

Payment Drop Box

Want to drop off a payment for your water bill? We have a convenient drop box located right outside our 110 W. Taylor Street office in San Jose. Checks only, no cash payments. 

Our call center can be reached between 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call us at (408) 279-7900.

Please note our call center is closed from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the second Friday of the  month.

Some of you may wonder why your bill payments are mailed to Pasadena, CA. We changed our remittance process about two years ago to achieve greater operational efficiencies. Our banking partner handles all the payments in Southern California.  

For those customers who do not use online bill pay or auto pay, payments should be mailed to P.O. Box 7045, Pasadena, CA 91109-7045.
